This post is very similar to our post about the difference of paid to click sites and get paid to sites, except this time I will be comparing and contrasting market research and get paid to sites. Let’s get started.

The first similarity with market research and get paid to sites is that they both require you to give your opinion, name, age, etc. This is no problem for most of you, and you’ll find these steps to be quite easy. In fact, you may find market research to be easier then get paid to sites since there is not any of the “No thanks” or “Continue to next ’special offer’”.

One of the differences you will notice is the length of the market research surveys. They tend to be long and tedious. The more you answer to, the more you have to answer. For example, if they ask you what you’ve purchased in a grocery store in the last week and you say cereal, bread, and milk, then they are going to request more information from you for those three items. If you were to just pick one of those, then they would only survey you on that choice. I recommend you check the time estimation for how long the survey will take you.

Another difference you may notice is that you may not qualify for most market research surveys. This will cause you to maybe only get one survey a month, which equals out to $5-$10, depending on the market research site. To see if you are eligible for the survey, they look at your profile and check your age and gender. If you are the type of demographics they are looking for, then you qualify. If you aren’t, then you don’t get the survey invitation.

Many will find the market research sites easier to work on then GPT sites, however it will take much longer to make money on them compared to GPT sites. Market research doesn’t need sponsored offers and doesn’t require you fill out your name and email when completing offers.

In conclusion, time is important to me. Even though GPT sites are a bit harder then market research sites, I’d like to save more time instead of using more and making less money. There are some market research sites (such as Pinecone Research) that I am a part of that are easy and quick. Pinecone Research is one of my favorite market research sites and if you are thinking about joining a market research panel, that’s the one to join!

Good post, I like this idea a lot and wasn’t really sure of the specific difference before reading. It is good to be able to differentiate what is what with ease… thanks :)

I, also, am a part of Pinecone Research and I do like their surveys. They aren’t too long, if they send you a survey you are almost assured it is relevant for you so you can finish it, and they send your money like clockwork. I have tried some GPT things, but wasn’t very satisfied.
