A big question I receive from readers is “how do I keep my referrals active?”. One thing you must remember is that not all referrals you “recruit” will neccessairly be active. However, there are ways to contact them and get them to start completing offers. I will list some of the methods I use below:
1) Mass messaging.
Many GPT sites are ran off a script called Shiftcode. This script allows practically anyone to be able to set up their own GPT site (considering they have the money to pay for the script). Along with Shiftcode comes an optional package (almost every GPT site has this, even though it is optional) that allows the Admin and users the ability to communicate with each other. When you refer someone, they are automatically added onto your “Contacts”. If you make your way to your Inbox on the Shiftcode GPT site you are apart of, you can find a link titled “Compose Message”. After clicking this, you will be able to select from a drop down menu of who you would like to contact. For this particular method, we will select “All”.
Now go ahead and type a friendly message. Remember, this will be sent to everyone listed in that drop down menu, so don’t put particular names. Some of the “message templates” I send out may be reminding them about amazing offers they shouldn’t miss out on. Sometime I will also remind them to clear cookies after each offer they complete. Also, on the last day of the month I usually send out a message to “All” reminding people to cashout. Remember that all of your referrals will receive an email stating “You have a new message at ‘gptsitehere’.com”.
2) Keeping in touch through other means.
Another way of keeping in touch with some of your referrals is getting them signed up with the forums (if the GPT site has one) and/or getting any AIM screen names or MSN Messenger email addresses. This will provide you direct contact with them!
3) Keeping the GOOD referrals!
Like I said in the beginning of the post, not all referrals will be active, or even come back to the site. You will most likely be able to see when they were last active by going to “Your Referrals” page (page title may vary depending on the GPT site). If you see a referral that has made you $30.00, but they were last active a month ago, you may want to try finding another method of contact. A way I accomplish this is by “Googling” (it’s a real word) their username to find other forums they are apart of, or maybe even an email address or screen name! You can contact them this way and ask why they haven’t visited ‘gptsitehere’.com in awhile. If they have a problem, you can hopefully help them get it sorted out and they will once again start to make you more money. It’s put a new twist on “eStalking”.
4) Don’t be discouraged!
It takes time to build a good downline, so don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t happen right away. You may even want to read “The Ultimate Guide to Building a Downline” for additional help. If referrals are going to be your main income for GPT sites, keep trying. You really can make a lot off referrals, it just takes time. Right now, I am earning around $5.00/day ($150+/month) by doing nothing! I don’t even have to touch a computer. All I have to do is cashout at the end of the month, receive my check, and cash it at the bank. Talk about free money! Hopefully my “testimonial” will encourage you to build a great downline.
Good luck!

Great tip! I’ve never messaged any of my referrals, but I think if the person who referred me to my favorite GPT site sent me a message of encouragement, I’d appreciate it!
I just noticed a cool new feature over at CashQuestGPT called “Member to Member & Downline Transfer.” This is the coolest!!! I think shiftcode has just released this new feature and it allows you to give bonuses and transfer funds to your downline. Just awesome!
Thanks for the comment on our new feature Jordan. This is a feature that I had designed by Shiftcode for our site, I am not sure that it will be openly available, but it great to see that you like the idea. We are also in the process of adding to our chat room - “Downline Chat” this will give a member the option to hold meetings and private chats or chat games specifically for their own downline and in a seperate private room. I really think this will add to the answers of “How to keep your referrals active” More new features to come!
