Is Adbux a scam?

UPDATE #2: After being threatened by Tyler Gibson with a lawsuit, I have decided to update the article even more to bring you more evidence and discoveries about Adbux. I have last updated this post on October 5, 2007 at 5:43PM.

UPDATE: After being noted for the #1 spot in Google when you type “adbux scam“, I have last updated this post on August 26, 2007 at 2:27AM.

Main Content:

A question I have been asked by many people. Is Adbux a scam? Well, to tell you the truth, no one is completely sure. However, my suspicions, along with many others is that Adbux is most definitely a scam. Why?

To start, let’s get ourselves familiar with a guy named Chad French. Does that name ring a bell? Perhaps you weren’t in the “money making” scene around the time of Netbux.org, but it was a site exactly the same as Adbux.org. Look, there’s one hint. The similarity in names. The second hint is that the site has the exact same features as Netbux did. No more, no less. Netbux scammed more then $40,000 from it’s members, and I am thinking that Adbux will scam even more (read at the end of this post for more information on the newsletter they released about this “history” of Netbux).

He will close the site when it is no longer profitable. Here is a quick rundown of the profits he is making, quoted from Adbux Truth (a site that feel down due to Adbux’s threats).

Look at AdBux.org now. At the top it says “Clicks Served: 1,305,856″ which will increase when anyone clicks.

Take 1,300,000 clicks to make an estimate. Say only 75% of the members are referred by some one. That means $13,000 x 175%, $22,750. That’s how much the members earned so far, but he didn’t pay out that much, because 95% of the members didn’t reach $10 payout. Only the ones with referrals can reach that quickly, and some people with 100+ referrals are the ones you see reaching payout almost every day.

Maybe he paid $5000 so far?

Then, how much did he earn? Referral sets are $39.95 for 25 referrals. He sold 100 reserve sets before he shut down the referral sales. Then he sold more sets temporarily on May 7 and May 9. Let’s guess 100 sets each of those times. He also sold many referrals before beginning the reserve sets, and their price fluctuated many times. At that time there were about 30,000 members so we can guess about 7500 unreferred members, which is 300 more sets at that price.

How much is that? Total 600 sets for $39.95 each - $23,970. You can see how profitable this is to him until he needs to start paying all the members.

What about upgrade though? With 55,000 members and a very “promising” upgrade I think he will sell at least 1000 upgrades so far. 1000 for $20 each, that’s $20,000 more.

What about his other revenue? A few ads purchased, some of his own affiliate ads, and some PPC ads he put up for a while. Not very much but maybe $500-$1000.

Now you can see he potentially earned up to $44,970 already, maybe even much more. But see how much came from referral sales and upgrades. Once new membership slows he will get very little revenue, from the clicks is not nearly enough.

Once he is no longer making any profit, my guess is that he will freeze all accounts and close the site - exactly the same thing that happened with Netbux.

UPDATES:

Confirmation that Adbux is owned by Chad French. After a user posted a picture of the Florida state business record that had Chad’s name on it, along with his new buddy, Dustin, an unknown Tyler Gibson, and a few more. After this proof was posted, Adbux admitted what they have been denying for a very long time.

Something may be happening soon. The minimum cashout was raised from $5.00 to $10.00 on May 1st. This could possibly be another step leading towards the “disappearance” of Adbux. The timer was also raised to 3o seconds from 15, but other sites similar to Adbux (known as autosurf) mostly already use 30 seconds.

Threats from AdBux.org. One of the well-known sites that agrees that Adbux is a scam has had to go offline by posting his personal information to all of their members. This just goes to show that Chad will do almost anything to make sure those “Adbux is a scam” sites don’t exist.

More Threats from AdBux.org. On October 2, 2007, I received an email from Tyler Gibson threatening to sue me if I did not remove this article you are reading. He claimed that it was defamation, libel and slander. Unfortunately, true statements do not classify as this. Everything in this article is true, and the stats were also accurate at one time. He’s threatened to contact my hosting provider and Google Adsense, which I’m sure he has. However, since the statements are true in this article, there is nothing for me to worry about. I have received professional legal advice and they assure me I am fine, and the article is not defamation, libel and/or slander.

Where’s the proof?

After my article was featured on Bux.to, people began asking me: where’s the proof? Well here you go:

Question: Prove that Chad French is connected with Adbux! You can’t?
Proof: Sure, just check out Incentrum LLC information.

Question: Their newsletter clears up the history of Netbux, it was all just a misinterpretation… right?
Proof: Wrong, here’s some information I found on They Scammed Us:

====== Strart of information from They Scammed Us ======

[…] Finally, the paragraph goes on to say: “Actually, StormPay stole all of the money. It wasn’t frozen. It was stolen.” Yet, this site, which he is supposedly refuting, never said the funds were frozen. In fact, in the AdBux connection with Netbux.org area, we linked to a page which included StormPay’s testimony that the funds were not frozen (link). We agree that they were stolen. It simply wasn’t StormPay who was stealing.

From Adbux newsletter:

90 days after Netbux went down… PayPal unfroze half of the $22,000 ($11,000) and released it back to the rightful owners. Then, after 180 days, PayPal released the rest (at least that’s what they say). Chad French never received any money despite the lies that the above websites represent. Those who paid money through StormPay never received their money because StormPay stole it.

This is where the story becomes strange, as the details don’t match up. First of all, yes, PayPal releases frozen funds after 180 days. However, Chad French’s PayPal account was frozen at or before May 11 (link), thus PayPal was removed and StormPay only was used. Netbux still stayed around until June, so why would it take another 180 days after it shut down for it to be released?

It should also be considered that the above claim that $22,000 was frozen in PayPal does not match the previous claims made by Chad French, and recorded on several websites, that over $30,000 was frozen in PayPal (link #1 | link #2). More than $8000 is a decent chunk of change to forget about.

====== End of information from They Scammed Us ======

Now you ask yourself. Is Adbux a scam?

Free Rapidshare account and to earn money
    Yes People this really works
I have my own 1 year Rapidshare Premium account

    Just follow these steps

1)Skip this step if u already own a paypal account
Go to https://www.paypal.com/ and sign up
Create a paypal premier account (this is for free)

When asked to give credit card details click on CANCEL

    2)Now,
    Go to

    http://adbux.org/

    And register.
You’ll be paid just to click on their ads.
The more you click the more you earn.

    How You Make Money
You make money by simply visiting websites for at least 30 seconds/visit. We will pay you $0.01 for each website you visit and $0.01 for each website your referrals visit. The best part is you can have an unlimited amount of referrals! To keep AdBux from getting top-heavy you will only earn money from those that you directly refer. This gives everyone who participates in the program a fair advantage to earn the most amount of money because you have the potential to earn more than your sponsor! Payments are issued via PayPal on a daily basis but you must request for a payment to be processed. Once requested, your payment will be issued within 24-48 hours (usually sooner). You must earn at least $10 to receive payment.

    3)
Finally, use this money to get your own RAPIDSHARE PREMIUM ACCOUNT

    4)
You could even use this money for other online shopping on e-bay or on any other sites.

…..I know the procedure is very tedious and lengthy. But I guarantee that you will succeed in your goal…
    Please be patient

    Peace n howdy??

I got paid once from Adbux, but only verified paypal can receive that, and i was lucky to found the easy way to verify my Paypal through VCC.

I don;t know until when they’ll pay, but i agreed with you, once the site have no profit anymore , they will ran away, and that’s the same concept with HYIPs. Almost all HYIPs now are scam, they just pay at the beginning, and then scam people when a time comes.

    :)

    They will stop paying eventually.
There are already people not receiving payments and Chad is not answering his emails.
I would think he is paying some (people like you so they say it’s not a scam), and he won’t pay maybe a 1/4 of all the users.

    AdBux Scam // July 21st, 2007 at 5:46 pm

AdBux is a scam owned by Chad French of the now-defunct Netbux.org. Even AdBux administration admitted it after someone showed them the Florida state business record that had Chad’s name on it. Don’t fall for AdBux and their “parent company” Incentrum LLC. AdBuxScam.com

AdBux is declining, it is evident by how less and less ads they are giving out. Also members aren’t as active anymore.

    EzRich // September 30th, 2007 at 5:51 am

Was paid once before. Now being banned because AdBux said I promote “adbux ads auto clicker”. More than $20 forfeited.

They banned me, then they change their Term of Service stating that promoting auto clicker is not permitted. It’s another trap set by AdBux. They will keep silent if you break their TOS (no warning), then if you reach of cash out level, then they will banned you and forfeited your earning.

Even if they has been paying some members, other members has been victimized as well. That’s how AdBux play the game. Making some members happy and killing other members at the same time to keep the balance.

    AdBuxLover // September 30th, 2007 at 6:12 am

This blog is so full of crap! Chad owns Incentrum, AdBux’s parent company, but he has NOTHING to do with AdBux! And NetBux was like Agloco… NOTHING like AdBux!

Bux.to hacked and stole AdBux’s original script, and has ‘ghost’ ads and sells ‘bot fake referrals. They would like you to think AdBux is a scam, to take all the negative attention off of them… but it isn’t working!

AdBux has paid me 14 times (almost $200 total), ON TIME, EVERY TIME. Bux.to’s forum is full of complainers who haven’t been paid in 2 months (since beginning of Aug)! TOS is constantly changed, without warning, to suit the owner, whoever that is. Mods don’t know anything and support is MIA. They lie to you, saying that if you upgrade, you’ll be paid sooner, but they only keep your money! That site has ‘Ponzi scheme’ written all over it! Bux.to is the biggest scam in the PTC world right now. Bux.to is going down!

AdBux is the ORIGINAL ‘Bux’ PTC and is STILL the best! The mods are very helpful, as are the admin who post regularly. New features are added to the AdBux program all the time, and members are happy. Half a million members KNOW AdBux is NOT a scam! ;)

SCAM !!!! Shut them down. They should be caught and a BIG Lawsuit applied to them. They should not use the internet to scam anyone. What a SHAME.They should be marked, as like a sex offender, and not be able to get on the internet again. The FBI should be doing a better job in finding these internet scammers. Being able to have the internet to use for your own Business or pleasure, is like having your drivers License. DON’T ABUSE IT!!!!DOWN with the SCAMMERS!!!!! I should organize a group that finds these scammers and turn them in. Hopefully, the ones who joined, get their money back too. And they (scammers) should get prison time and a hefty fine. Scammers should go to alaska and sell ICE!!!!!

yeah. i have been banned when i recovered my money after adbux didn´t give ads
to some countries or one diary. then they closed my account without they said me anything.
i had rights to recover the money given if they make to lose the
referrals bought or they don´t let make money to none ,
but they haven´t any right to close accounts without say the motive.

All you complainers don’t know what your talking about. Did you ever take the time to think if you were banned for a good reason? No you didn’t, if you were banned, you were banned for a reason.

EzRich, you for one were banned because you were because you supported and probably used a program that steals from those that legitimately click the ads. People pay for other PEOPLE to see those ads, not bots.

scammer, you were banned because you broke the part of the ToS about refunds. And the only reason u requested a refund from PayPal was because Adbux was experiencing a small set bac that was caused by a poor new system choice. AdBux realize like a day or two later and removed that system before the end of that week. Adbux, like ALL companies, makes mistakes sometimes.

Bruce Harding, and your proof and reasons are where???

And for everyone else how hates AdBux, if you were banned, you were banned for a reason. If you read the rules adn follow them, you will be fine, adn if your not sure of something ask.

I’ve been a member of Adbux since April, and I couldn’t be happier. Sure I’m not getting rich off it, but im making a bit of extra cash. I read the rules and have followed them, and have never had any problems.

Just so yo know, those search results also show all those pages that just have the words AdBux and scam on the same page. That could mean that the page could be comparing AdBux to actual scam sites, or pages say things like “AdBux isn’t a scam”. Think before you make a stupid comment next time.

You and maybe like a hundred or thousand people only think its a scam because you have a person grudge against them, because you got banned for doing something stupid.

And lastly, who the hell who the hell are you calling a liar?! I am just a member of AdBux, a normal member. Im not an admin, and I’m not a mod, just a normal, happy member. Unlike you, im not afraid to actually say who I am, I even linked my AdBux forum account this time, to prove that I am a normal member.

AdBux is most definitely NOT a scam.

AdBux has been around sice April, and is now BIGGER and BETTER than ever before, and is always improving!

Wow that is pathetic, you did’t even say anything new. All you did was copy and paste, then add some “=” so you wouldn’t get that duplicate post message. That is just sad, the only reason your even calling adbux a scam is because you have a personal grudge against them.

If you are going to say something is a scam, at least give actually proof, not just search results that dont even prove anything.

Just to show how pointless those search results are, I searched “Google Scam” on google and “Yahoo Scam” on yahoo.

    2,330,000 results for “Google Scam”:
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=google+scam

    16,800,000 results for “Yahoo Scam”:
    http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=yahoo+scam

See how good your type of ‘proof’ is, its not even actually proof, it is was both google and yahoo would be considered scams too.

    Kevin // October 20th, 2007 at 6:08 am

Well ive been using adbux before, heard it from a friend who recommended it (he didnt get payed before, but waiting), so i figured since its free that i’d check it out.

Its been 2 months, been clicking away and a few times actually thought about buying some of the stuff showing on those ads. BUT i never got payed. I thought i probably exceeded a rule like most scam sites nowadays (yea, i never got the $60 off surfjunky either), but that wasnt the case either. I never used cheating programs, scripts, bots, ANYTHING - EXCEPT my mouse. Nor did i get banned. Just no pay offs for me.

Im not saying adbux is scamming everyone - it sure doesnt seem like it :), but some people DO get scammed. I dont care if people thinks i have a certain grudge against adbux, i mean.. its free to use and you (surposely) get paid right?

The only thing i learned from this is; “When something sounds too good to be true, maybe IT IS too good to be true” and when ive been scammed twice by this ads scam, it makes me think why people say that easy money just dont exist, unless somebody ends up getting scammed (or lots of people in this case).

Lastly, great article “MrGPT”. Sorry to hear about the lawsuit threats, but what would you expect from the sad sad sad people who scams people anyways ;)

I’ve received over 30 payments from AdBux with hardly any investment. Any rumors or claims that the owner has scammed people in the past is false or ignorantly displayed. The website will be a year old in a few months and it’s better than ever… almost 700,000 members!

I tried adbux and gave up after 2 weeks. It took a while to get a verified paypal account as it took forever to do the verifying with the routing, once that was over I spent a good amount of time earning $150 on adbux and then tried to cash out. It was miserable, and trying to call them for help was impossible. They are ridiculous with their setup and I have no doubt after my frustrations with their support that they are definitely a scam.

I hope you update with the latest games by Adbux (aka the old Netbux of Mr. French). They stopped paying until june 2008 so they can “catch up” with their payments. In other words, it’s a ponzi scheme as origionally suspected; the site is unsustainable and they can’t even pay members as promised. I’ve lost faith in any site with “bux” in the name. Best.

I joined AdBux during their “Pre-Launch” and it was an excellent PTC site with good earnings potential, until Admin decided to try to “improve” things by changing their advertising program. After TWO changes to their advertising program, nothing has improved but steadily gotten worse. Now they seem to be adding every other gimmick, under the sun, to revive a SINKING SHIP that’s going down faster than the Titanic. AdBux always yelled SCAM about other sites, especially bux.to, that supposedly stole or copied their format. Now, several other site, with similar formats, are growing at a rapid rate and AdBux is barely surviving. Scammers usually yell the loudest about others but are also usually the first to “GO UNDER”.

AdBux, die like the joke that you are!!!

I just joined AdBux & now I’m thinking of leaving it. But I’ve been noticing that most of these PTC sites use AlertPay instead of PayPal. Is AlertPay safe at all?? I joined Alertpay after joining AdBux, & it’s asking for a scanned copy of my IDs to verify my account. I got kind of iffy after that.

So, any info on AlertPay’s security/legitimacy?

    Thanks!

I want to open a pay to click myself, so reading articles like this, seeing where other sites can and are going wrong and understanding more about the effects they have on their users is a great help to me.

Thank you Mr. GPT for an interesting and informative article, hope I can learn from Adbux’s mistakes without making too many myself!

I can certainly answer this question, is Adbux is a SCAM? absolutely. I bought into the scheme about a year or so ago. just to find out that I have been clicking in vain. I never got paid, when I voice my concern I was advise to cancel my account or it would be canceled for me, no mention of paying what was owed to me. Total sum owed to me was $39.96. I paid $120. and got back zero. ADBUX IS A SCAMMMMMM.
