Raided by Google Adsense…

Monday, August 25th, 2008 | General with

Just got an email a few hours ago from Google stating that Adsense is not allowed to be ran on any sites about pay-to-click, paid-to-read, or any type of get paid to site. In the past, I was aware that you could not run those type of ads on actual sites that offered that service, but MrGPT always offered just information and links to those sites.

Well, the rules have changed and now “sites comparing various pay-to-click programs” are no longer allowed either. Unfortunately MrGPT falls into that category, so I am forced to take those Google ads down. If you have a site with Google ads and your site contains information about pay-to-click programs, I recommend you take the ads off yourself and not wait for an email from Google.

I have a long track record with Google Adsense from the various niche sites I own and maintain, so that is why I believe they are only disabling the ads for the domain, not shutting down my account completely. You may not be so lucky, so don’t “hope” to get away with it, because you probably won’t.

Off to find some new banner creatives to throw in there and promote…

(All my sites regarding GPT sites were raided by the big G)

Just stopping by. Unbelievable!!!! I don’t see why Google would ban review sites. That is going to affect an awful lot of people and I’m sure it won’t be good news. I’m using Bidvertiser and they are much more lenient. Best wishes to you!

    I'm moving away from BidVertiser. // August 27th, 2008 at 12:19 am

I’m moving away from BidVertiser because their tracking system seems to fall off in accuracy over time. My bidvertiser profits got lower over time even though my sites became exponentially more popular - go figure (I smell a rat.)

Wow Tom, that is really unfortunate… I am sorry to hear that Google removed you from their Adsense network! Five grand is quite a good amount of extra income from Adsense. That in one month?
