Three major changes to GPT sites

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007 | General with

There are three new terms being added to most GPT site’s Terms of Service. These three new terms are huge changes, and should definitely change the GPT industry even more. Remember that it’s not the GPT site owner’s doing, it is the advertiser’s (even though they are picking favorites on which GPT sites they enforce the new rules and which they don’t) requests that they now make you enforce.

1. 18 Years Old

One of these three new rules being added to most GPT sites is this age requirement that you must be eighteen. The whole reasoning behind this is that young teens cause fraud. However, although I do agree teens may be contributing to some part of this problem, there are a lot more fraudulent stay at home mom’s who are doing worse. The main problem is more towards bad credit cards being used, people using prepaid cards and not cancelling the service if they decide not to continue, and users completing offers they are not interested in to just turn around and cancel it as soon as it credits.

Now teens do not contribute to all of this. First off, they have school (or did, but now that it’s summer they are out) and I’m sure they do not have as much time as stay at home mom’s do. Surely there will still be fraud going on no matter what terms are applied. Then of course the teens will just create another account with a fake age. If they require an ID to prove it, they just Photoshop the birth date, and so on. There’s always a way to get around something.

At the bottom of this post I will provide GPT sites that still allow users under the age of 18 to join.

2. No more prepaid cards? Nooo!

Another new term being applied to some GPT sites is that prepaid cards can no longer be used. This will definitely be a huge decrease of profit for GPT site owner’s, since most users will not want to actually use their real credit card and risk the harm of their credit card being stolen. What will this cost users to do? Go back to freebies, which is not as profitable as paid offers.

At the bottom of this post I will provide GPT sites that still allow prepaid cards.

3. Delayed payments

Many advertisers are going on a Net 30 basis, or even a Net 45 basis. If you don’t know what this is, anything “Net xx” just means they’ll be paid every “xx” days. So if it is on a Net 30 basis, they’ll be paid every 30 days. It’s usually on a Net 25 basis, but they are beginning to change it to 30 and 45 so they have more time to investigate fraudulent behavior before sending money to the publishers (the GPT sites owner’s). This isn’t necessarily horrible, it just means you’ll have to wait longer to receive your money.

At the bottom of this post I will provide GPT sites that have not changed their payment policy.

Sites that still allow users under 18 to join:

Sites that have not changed payment dates:

Update - Since a large majority of my readers are stay at home mom’s, I thought I should mention that I was not calling out the legit stay at home mom’s. Just the one’s that do offers over and over on different sites and complete offers they are not interesting.

That changes are ok actually, because GPT exist because of advertisers, so advertisers got a right to change because they pay, not the members :D

    Good post buddy!!!

I can understand why they want to do this. Fraud costs the advertisers and the site owners not only in money, but in the time required to weed out the fraud. So, it isn’t surprising to see some of the sites start to “crack down” on fraud. It also won’t be surprising to see this trend continue.

How come swatcash is omitted from all your lists of best sites?

    They are #1
    They pay Net15
They give away thousands of $$ in prizes

I’m sure you have relationships with some of these other site owners but you should post the truth.

SWATCASH is and will always be the best
