Another tip for today, to help celebrate the new Tips category, is one that some of you may already know. For those of you that don’t know what the “Gmail trick” is can read on. Oh, and if you haven’t figured out yet, you will need a Gmail account for this (you can register one for free here).

A widely-known tip for GPT site users is to use different emails each time you complete a new offer. Why? The advertisers don’t want to pay you for a “repeat customer”. When I first started completing offers awhile back ago and I learned of this “tip”, I thought “Oh great, now I’m going to have to sign up for 50 Hotmail accounts”. Then I learned of the Gmail trick.

The Gmail trick is simply just adding periods in between the letters  of your email address. For example, if my email address is johndoe@gmail.com and I complete an offer (Offer #1)  using that, it is a common rule of thumb you should now use a new email address the next time you complete an offer. To get around this, you can just use j.ohndoe@gmail.com for your next offer (Offer #2). This actually works and will pass by as being a “different email address”.

The amazing thing with the periods in between the letters is that you can use as many periods as you want between the letters. So if I wanted to do jo.h.nd.oe@gmail.com or any other combination with periods anywhere before the “@” sign, it would all work!

Do the prepaid cards still work on most sites? I read on another blog that they might start cracking down and not crediting offers completed with prepaid gift cards… if true that would really suck but i’m sure a lot of sites will still allow it. Would you still use them on most sites if you were just starting out?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Mike,

There was about a month ago or so right when the huge “GPT fraud” scene was going on where a lot of sites added that they can no longer use prepaid cards in their Terms of Service, but some (not all) later removed that rule. I would check with the GPT site you’re on by checking their Terms of Service.

Of course even if it is against their TOS, they wouldn’t necessarily be able to tell you are using a prepaid card instead of a credit card. Not encouraging anything, just saying my opinion.

    Hope this helped,
    MrGPT

Yup! I’ve had this trick listed on my site for a while. It’s definitely great for gmail and aol accounts as well from what I’ve heard.

    Hey,

I also briefly explained it here awhile back ago as well. Thought I would go more in-depth with it now though.

Does that mean use a different email for each GPT site or to use a different email for each offer on the site even if it is a different advertiser?

The problem with this trick is that the GPT sites start cottoning on closer to your cash out stage - and then “bust” you for fraudulent usage… We will never win!
