VOTE: Turn MrGPT Into a Forum?

Thursday, September 4th, 2008 | General, Questions with

I am not going ot deny it - I have been really slacking off with this site lately. But the truth is that there is just not a lot that happens in the GPT industry.

Sure, there is all those dirty scandals about GPT sites and the owners behind them, but I do not want to waste my time on information that may not even be true.

So it got me thinking… what if I turned this site into a forum? I know there are already forums for this site here, but I would like to change this whole site into a forum. Yes, there would still be a blog, but you would have to go to something like mrgpt.com/blog to get there.

So question is….

n

Would you participate on this site if it was changed to a forum?

Interesting. So you want to make the homepage as the forum and move your blog/articles to another directory.

It makes sense as you’ve got other things going on and don’t have much time to keep the blog going. so you’d rather have members provide new content on the forum as the main site. and have your blog be like an “extra” to this site. But..It is a “make money online” thing after all and you know it will be spam infested if not kept up. You might have less room for ads on the forum too (i don’t know) Your revenue could drop and it could draw in more spammers. It is HARD to get a good forum going strong with QUALITY content and minimal spam.

If you do decide to go forum and need moderators, you can holler at me (I’m Brandon, former owner of CashJuke). I own and run a forum right now, but it’s a musical/guitar forum.

Perhaps a landing page giving the user a choice to go to the (occasionally) updated blog/news section, or the ongoing conversations in the forum section?

    @ gWallet:

The only problem I see with that is me losing my search engine rankings for certain terms that I get a large majority of my traffic from.

Please Mr. GPT! Don’t do this… Your blog is amazing and a recourse for the whole GPT community. Why not just make the forum better and use it to BOOST your search engine rankings? Or you could just post more : )
